Welcome to Textile Engineering Web Site

Almost 40% of the textile industries in Iran are located in Isfahan, and their presence in this state dates back to centuries ago. To take the evolutionary steps in the science and technology associated with the textile industry and to cope with the growing international competition, the department of textile science and technology was established in 1984 at IUT whose presence has not only had the advantage of training engineers and practitioner in the field but has also guided the industry through into a better manufacturing environment today.

It was the result of such relation with industry that the department has been actively involved in research into many aspects of textile science and technology. However, the major activities can be grouped under two headings:

Fiber science and chemistry and textile technology.

Department of textile engineering offers graduate and under graduate programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Ph.D. in textile technology and textile chemistry and fiber science. The 911 B.Sc. degree and 110 M.Sc. degree has been graduated.

The research projects currently going on at the department are as follows:

ØYarn texturing
ØStructure and properties of non – woven fabrics
ØArtificial Intelligence and Image processing
ØInvestigation of the physical and mechanical properties of high performance fibers
ØFracture mechanics of fibers
ØIndustrial textile
ØNano technology
